<\/a><\/p>\nCrown Heights United Methodist Church has been sharing God\u2019s love in the heart of Oklahoma City since 1929. We are proud to be part of a vital and diverse neighborhood with a promising future.<\/p>\n
We are a community of Christians who recognize that we are all on a spiritual journey. As we worship, study, pray, and serve together, our faith is stretched and encouraged. We welcome all to our worship services, study opportunities, mission outreach events, and music program, indeed, to all our varied activities.<\/p>\n
In May of 2019, we became a Reconciling Church, meaning we are intentional about our welcome to LGBTQ people. We celebrate the 2024 General Conference which allowed marriage and ordination regardless of categories.<\/p>\n

We want our community to recognize Crown Heights as a safe haven where all people are welcomed, affirmed, loved, and supported by the members of our congregation. 11 am–\u00a0<\/b>Sanctuary Worship, more family friendly, children can go to Children’s Church after the Children’s Moment<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a>Worship July 2025<\/p>\nWe are all searching for ways to serve God and our community. At Crown Heights UMC, we will work to provide worship, spiritual growth, missional opportunities, and connection<\/strong> to ALL our people. We offer in-person options for worship and lectures, and we will Livestream worship on Facebook and post videos so everyone can find ways to participate.<\/p>\n

Family<\/strong><\/p>\n
I met my husband, Justin North, at Oklahoma City University, and we married in 1999. Justin is a radiologist at the University of Oklahoma\u2019s Health Science Center. We have three beautiful children. Carter and Nathan are in their 20s, working toward their professions, and Maya is a junior in high school. We have 2 near-perfect German Shepherds, as well.<\/p>\n
Professional Background<\/strong><\/p>\n
I am a lifelong United Methodist and felt called to serve this church since I was a teenager. I grew up in California, attending First UMC of San Diego. As I graduated from high school, I wanted to go out of state for school and found my perfect match at Oklahoma City University. I studied religion, with a minor in women\u2019s studies, graduating in 1998. Then I went to seminary at Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating in 2002.<\/p>\n
I was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2008. I have pastored Crown Heights UMC for the last 10 years. Previous appointments were Leonard UMC and Cashion UMC, and I worked for Volunteers in Mission at the OK UM Conference Office.<\/p>\n
Calling in Life<\/strong><\/p>\n
I see my life\u2019s calling in the words of Micah 6:8, What does the Lord require of you? To seek justice and love kindness and walk humbly with your God. This is my challenge everyday, and as a pastor, my task is to help each member of the congregation more fully live into justice, kindness, and a deeper relationship with God. I delight in seeing people identify their call and use their lives to bring forth the Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n
