MAY 2026 <\/span><\/strong>The Fellowship Hall is our next project. We would like to renovate the space by exposing the industrial ceiling, painting, and laying down new flooring. Part of this work is unskilled demolition, and we would love some help. come for a workday on Saturday May 16 from 9am- 2pm to tear down the drop ceiling.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n APRIL 2026 <\/span><\/strong>Our Easter Offering will go toward our 2026 Apportionments to the OK Conference of the UMC, <\/span>AND on <\/span>April 11, Saturday from 9:30am- 2pm, help us supervise and host OU\u2019s Big Event volunteers at our church.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n MARCH 2026 <\/strong>On March 7, 25 volunteers worked at Free To Live Animal Sanctuary, cleaning out and organizing a warehouse. We also donated toys, cat litter, food, & radios for music for the animals.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n FEBRUARY 2026<\/strong> Throughout February, we collected home decor & kitchen items for City Rescue. Those moving into permanent housing can take what they need to get started.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n JANUARY 2026<\/strong> On January 28, 50 volunteers worked at the Regional Food Bank.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n DECEMBER 2025 <\/span><\/strong>Our Christmas Offering will go to rental assistance and missions at CHUMC (75% to Stay Housed\/ 25% to CHUMC\u2019s missions). In worship on Sunday, December 14, Jessica Earley from <\/span>Stay Housed<\/span> (NSO) will talk about their program. <\/span><\/span>AND h<\/span>elp in the church kitchen on Wednesday, Dec 17, morning for <\/span>Palo Duro<\/span> Christmas Lunch OR Thursday, Dec 18, evening for <\/span>Whiz Kids\u2019<\/span> Christmas Dinner. We will feed 200 over these 2 days!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n NOVEMBER 2025<\/strong> Our church gathered <\/span>Thanksgiving bags<\/span> for <\/span>Skyline Urban Ministry<\/span>. Thank you to those who brought bags or donated money. We distributed 121 bags on Monday before Thanksgiving and wrote a $500 check to Skyline to continue filling their shelves.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n OCTOBER 2025<\/strong> We collected <\/span>towels and XL twin comforter sets<\/span> for the <\/span>Carolyn Williams Center <\/span>(young male residents). When residents move out, they take their linens. We filled their supply closet for the months to come.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n SEPTEMBER 2025<\/strong> We are collecting K-Cups for Palo Duro, an NSO residence for people on disability. They are renovating their facilities with a built-in coffee station. Our church is supplying the K-Cups, any flavor. Bring them to the church throughout September.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n AUGUST 2025<\/strong> We raised $2600 to support the teachers at Putnam Heights Academy and our church. We shopped for their needs and wants as school began. Their lists included books, classroom decor, gardening supplies, and a fridge for Home Economics.<\/span><\/p>\n JUNE 2025<\/strong> This is our month to focus on Mobile Meals. We are looking for a volunteer to deliver meals on Mondays once or twice a month. We want to keep some staples in our freezers for the weekly cooks, and we would love to welcome a volunteer to cook either monthly or every so often. <\/span><\/p>\n APRIL 2025<\/strong>\u2014Saturday April 5 from 9:30am – 2pm, come help us host students for OU\u2019s Big Event. Help greet or supervise a group of workers. Or maybe you’d rather bake cookies for our workers!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n MARCH 2025<\/strong>\u2014<\/span>Monday March 10, we will bring dinner to OCU following their Evensong worship service, about 50 students normally. <\/span>We are looking for a group who can meet at the church at 6pm to prepare the meal and deliver the hot food at 7:30pm.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n FEBRUARY 2025\u2014<\/strong><\/span>This month we will focus on the unhoused population in OKC. <\/span>On February 23, we will have a speaker from Curbside Chronicle <\/span>in worship. We will have a vendor selling their magazines for $2 each. We will be gathering items to make care packages for all curbside vendors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n JANUARY 2025<\/span><\/strong>\u2014 It\u2019s getting cold outside! Let\u2019s go through our closets and pass along our gently used winter clothes. Please bring us jeans, coats, sweatshirts, gloves, scarves, and<\/span>\u00a0hats. <\/span>We will have boxes in the front and back of the Sanctuary throughout January.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n DECEMBER 2024<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n NOVEMBER 2024<\/strong>– <\/span>Our church is collecting bags of food for families in need of a Thanksgiving meal. Our grocery list is all the non-perishable food items needed to feed a family of 6, not including the meat. Please shop the list below and deliver to the church. Bags will be given to <\/span><\/span>Skyline Urban Ministry<\/span> in time for Thanksgiving.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 2 boxes stove top stuffing, <\/span>2 boxes of scalloped potatoes, <\/span>2 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese (no adding milk),\u00a0<\/span>1 box pancake\/baking mix, 40 oz (for biscuits), <\/span>2 cans green beans, <\/span>2 cans corn, <\/span>1 package cookie mix, <\/span><\/em>1 box cereal<\/em>= <\/span>TOTAL cost per bag $23<\/span><\/p>\n OCTOBER 2024<\/strong>– <\/span>Halloween:<\/span>\u00a0Our church is serving Baked Potatoes to the <\/span>UCO Wesley Foundation<\/span>. They provide a free lunch to about 60 students every Thursday.<\/span>AND Crown Heights neighborhood is a hopping place on <\/span>Halloween<\/span>. At Tabletop Tavern, we will hand out candy. Come, TRICK OR TREAT us, entering through the Western portico.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n SEPTEMBER 2024<\/strong>– <\/span>NSO\u2019s Palo Duro is an OKC apartment building <\/span>for adults with mental heath disabilities. <\/span>Can you help cook for or deliver a meal to the residents? <\/span>We are signed up to provide lunch on Tuesday, Sept 17. <\/span>Menu- Baked Potato Bar, fresh fruit, yummy dessert.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n AUGUST 2024<\/strong>– \u00a0<\/span>Join us in worship on August 25, we will sign cards for our church teachers and the teachers at Putnam Heights Academy as they begin a new school year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n JULY 2024<\/strong>– Skyline Urban Ministry has an increased need of donated food to give out. They say the most helpful donated items are cereal, canned meats, and macaroni & cheese. Let’s stock their shelves! Bring these items to church throughout July.<\/span><\/p>\n JUNE 2024<\/strong>– VBS is June 24-27 (Monday- Thursday), and we need all hands on deck. Volunteers are needed to help with dinner, and we need lots of help keeping track of kids. Bakers, we need 30 dozen cookies (350). Shoppers, please consider helping us with VBS crafts, science, and cooking supplies.<\/span><\/p>\n APRIL 2024<\/strong>– Saturday April 6 (9:30am-2pm), volunteers needed to work with <\/span>OU\u2019s Big Event <\/span>workers. Help host or supervise a project. Young Adults, join on Sunday April 7, stay after church for pizza and to finish any of the work projects from the day before. Dress ready to work!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n FEBRUARY\/ MARCH 2024<\/strong>– Skyline Prom Room- <\/span>Skyline helps teens who would otherwise not be able to afford a dress for their school\u2019s dances<\/span> shop for formal wear. Our church worked the Prom Room at Skyline Urban Ministry on Feb 25, March 16, and March 21.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n DECEMBER 14, 2023<\/strong>– Our church provided Christmas lunch for NSO’s Palo Duro, all the Whiz Kids families, and Mobile Meals. \u00a0250 meals!<\/span><\/p>\n NOVEMBER 2023<\/strong>– Together we donated 95 Thanksgiving bags to Skyline Urban Ministry and our own Whiz Kids. That\u2019s about $2000 of food- amazing! The youth helped shop, the Whiz Kids helped put bags together, and our church volunteers finished out the project.<\/span><\/p>\n Our church adopted two Christmas wish-lists for NSO Palo Duro residents.<\/span><\/p>\n OCTOBER 2023<\/strong>– Our members handmade 27 scarves for YWCA domestic abuse clients.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n SEPTEMBER 2023<\/strong>–\u00a0Crown Heights UMC is playing a lead role in organizing SKYLINE URBAN MINISTRY’s\u00a0<\/span>Prom Room.\u00a0<\/span>This fall we are collecting fairly recent, in good condition formal dresses and suits.
