Lenten Bible Study
Dr. Sharon Betsworth is a professor of religion and is the Director of the Wimberly School of Religion at Oklahoma City University. Her focus is New Testament studies, and her favorite topic is children in the Bible. We are lucky to have her teach this topic to us throughout Lent. Join us each Wednesday evening from 6:30- 7:15 p.m. for a time to stretch our minds, as well as our hearts. Sharon and her husband, Tom Devine, have been attending the 8:30 service for a while now.
Sharon writes: Let the Little Children Come to Me: Children in the Gospel of Mark
Many of us are familiar with the stories of the children coming to Jesus and childhood songs like “Jesus loves me,” but what do we actually find in the Gospels about children? What was the life of children like in the time of Jesus? This Bible study will explore the stories about children in the Gospel of Mark and discover what these stories can say for our faith life today.
