We believe in the beauty and strength of marriage, grounded in faith in God and love for one another. Christian marriage is proclaimed as a sacred covenant reflecting Christ’s covenant with the church. Therefore, a wedding ceremony is a service of worship, giving thanks to God for this treasured beginning of a life of acceptance, grace, truth and fidelity.
Crown Heights would be pleased to host non-members’ weddings in our sanctuary, understand that everything in the service, from the music to the vows to the sermon, are reflective of our Christian tradition. All couples are expected to complete four hours of pre-marital counseling before the wedding. Our clergy offers this service for a fee, or couples can show proof of counseling instead.
Sanctuary
Our sanctuary has a seating capacity of 225 on the ground floor and 75 in the balcony. Unfortunately, we have no handicap accessible restrooms.
Our bride and bridal party can dress in the Parlor, which is spacious and set up for getting ready.
Our Wedding Coordinator, Susan Ebert, will provide you a copy of our current wedding policy and fees, or schedule a time to view our sanctuary and discuss available dates. Contact Susan or call us at 524-8428.
Only a United Methodist pastor can officiate the wedding ceremony. Please consult with our Wedding Coordinator if you have another United Methodist minister you wish to use.
The order of worship of the United Methodist Church is used at all weddings. Take a 360º tour of our sanctuary. Music in the ceremony is to be sacred in style and Christian in theology, appropriate for our worship setting.
