Monthly Mission Projects
Our Church is committed to being in mission. We do a monthly mission project. They vary throughout the year. In the recent months, we have written encouraging notes to all the students at our local elementary school, worked on the church grounds, volunteered together at the Food Bank, and collected food for Skyline Urban Ministries. This is a great way to serving our community and getting to know the people of our church better.
GENERATION GATHERINGS
Young Adults– 20s- 30s+
Young Adults meet monthly for a meal. We often meet after worship on Sundays. Some months we meet for dinner on Tuesdays.
Gen Xers– basically 40-60
The magnificent middle (agers) gathering pop up about every other month.
Retirees– retired or soon-to-be retired
Join us the second Wednesday of the month for lunch. Meet at the restaurant at 11:30am.
United Methodist Women
Our United Methodist Women’s circles are always looking for ways to serve and support one another. Some groups love studying a devotional book together. Others simply look forward to eating out together, sharing the highs and lows of their Christian journeys. Their annual Rummage Sale raises an incredible amount of money for missions each year. They honor our graduating seniors with a reception in May, and often participate in special efforts at Skyline Urban Ministries, from collecting back packs and school supplies to helping children get the right sizes for their school uniforms.
Family Meals
About once a quarter, we pick a restaurant to go to together as a church. We simply want gather around a table, get to know one another, and become family. Nursery stays open so parents can enjoy fellowship time.
Dinner for Eight
Our church often gathers by inviting eight people to dinner at member’s home. Each home is assigned a mission project; i.e., sending personal cards to our homebound, making cookies for our college students, preparing hygiene kits to donate to Skyline Ministries. We get together for fellowship and fun.
